Recently the beauty community has become obsessed with liquid lipsticks and I can tell you I am right there with them. There are tons of liquid lipsticks on the market right now so I thought I’d share with you some of my thoughts about some high end and drugstore choices. So, let’s begin!

I’ll start with my first-ever liquid lipstick: Covergirl Outlast Lipcolor. My favorite thing about this brand is it will stay with you through thick and thin. I can eat a full meal with this lipstick and it will not come off. It varies in price but it averages around $10 and comes with a moisturizing topcoat. With or without the topcoat, this lipstick is extremely drying and can sometimes flake off. I find it varies with the shade and the condition of your lips. It is completely transfer-proof. What I don’t like about this option is that almost every shade is shimmer. It is almost impossible to find a matte shade. I also find that while some shades are beautiful and opaque, others are very sheer and there is no indication on the packaging of which it will be.
A very popular liquid lipstick is the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. These will fade if you eat, drink, or kiss, and will come off on your hands and drink glasses. The color is flawless- no streaking, no fine lines in your lips. They are a little drying, but not as drying as Covergirl. They are about $20, but note that you are getting almost twice as much product as most other liquid lipsticks.
My favorite is the new Bare Minerals GEN NUDE Matte Liquid Lipcolor. This is a completely nude line, so it’s not good if you’re looking for any sort of bright color, but they have a huge selection of beige nudes, pink nudes, mauve nudes, and brown nudes for about $18. I love them because they feel so velvety and comfortable- more comfortable than wearing nothing on the lips. They also have a delicious but not overpowering cocoa scent.

Next I have theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick. They also have a sweet scent, it smells minty and sweet, like mint brownies. They have a slight tingling feeling when you apply them to the lips. I love the color selection, they have truly interesting shades, both nudes and brights. It's $17 on theBalm's website.
Now let’s get to one I didn’t like. I have heard such good things about Revlon Colorstay Overtime but for me it had one fatal flaw: it was SO sticky. It was like a sticky, streaky gloss that never seemed to dry down to a matte.

The Rimmel Provocalips, however, is another drugstore brand that I do like. It’s similar because it is double ended, with a gloss on one end. I usually skip the gloss and I don’t find that it dries out my lips without it. But it can take some work to get the color looking streak free, and the color selection is pretty limited. This one goes for about $7.
Last but not least is the Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick, which also goes for about $7. The color is lovely, it’s a more inexpensive way to get a fun pop of color-I know they have a light blue shade. But I just hate hate hate the applicator. It’s so long and intrusive, it’s just so hard to apply the lipstick. Well, that’s it. I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful. See you next time!
